Breakaway from Acne!

As much as it may seem, that breakout didn’t appear to ruin your life. Acne has many causes, some that you can control, like washing your face and changing your pillowcase, and some you can’t, like genetics and hormonal fluctuations. It’s so important for us to know what causes them and how to treat them.

Acne surfaces during times of hormonal imbalance. When glands produce more oil than normal, skin pores get clogged, allowing bacteria (and pimples) to grow.

Always Wash Your Face Before Bed

It doesn’t matter how tired you are, you SHOULD not sleep in your makeup. Wash your face for 30-45 seconds every night to clear away all the dirt and oil off of your face.

Get Lots of Sleep

Staying up late and watching movies till 3 am is not healthy for you or your skin. A lack of sleep can shift your hormones out of whack and raise your body’s stress levels, which can make you breakout. Try getting at least eight hours of sleep to look and feel your best.

Take Vitamin A or a Specific Skin Hair & Nails Supplement

Vitamin A counters the adverse effects acne ha on the skin. It is an antioxidant and fights free radicals, which can cause cell damage and lead to premature aging of the skin. Vitamin A also decreases inflammation, promotes new skin cell growth and protects against environmental damage. An all in one Hero favourite of ours is our Daily Perfection- A wonderful formulation of Vitamin A, Grape Seed Extract, Selenium, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E and Biotin.

Drink Lots of Water

Drinking lots of water keeps your skin hydrated. It is said to prevent acne by promoting proper skin hydration. Dry skin can trigger excess oil production, which leads to acne.

Take Zinc

Zinc has been shown to decrease the production of oil in the skin. Decreasing the production of oil helps to reduce the chance of bacterial growth and blocked pores.
