Exercise is good for you, but doing it is another thing. We can all admit that is HARD to motivate yourself to workout. To stick to a routine, you need to get that little voice out of your head that says, “I'll do that tomorrow. Or the next day – if I have time.” Motivation does that, and it's not all about you powering through. There will be side steps on your fitness journey, and that is okay.
The Motivation for Workout Tips…
-
Lighten Up Your Goals-
If you're new to working out, your goal may be too big for you right now. Don't start trying to work out an hour or two every day. Instead, set more reasonable, achievable goals like 20-30 minutes a few days a week. Focus on how to build healthy habits, and the rest will come.
-
Track Your Progress-
Track your workouts, write them down in a journal. Seeing any type of improvement, makes you want to keep going.
-
Delete Guilt-
You're going to miss a day or two, it happens. If you accept that there will be some days you fall off track, that's okay because you'll be prepared mentally to deal with any setbacks.
-
Focus Only On Yourself-
There will always be someone faster, stronger and more flexible than you. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. Do not let someone else deter you from your goal. Your workout is all about you, no one else.
-
Find The Fun In It-
If you truly can't get motivated, maybe you're doing the wrong exercises. Pick activities you like the most, and something you can look forward to. Remember, exercise does not have to happen in a gym.
